Timeless Timeless Timeless

Bhumiya Raj, known as a "hero" and "ghost king," is said to have been either a military leader or chief who died defending his village. Now deified and important in both Rajasthan and Gujerat, Bhumiya Raj is supposedly not based on any particular person that actually lived as each village has it"s own specific Bhumiya Raj. It is still believed that Bhumiya Raj still rides around his village at night dispelling evil spirits. The amulet"s five-sided peaked pentagon form symbolizes a temple.

An antique 20K-22K Indian protective plaque amulet of Bhumiya Raj - exhibiting the Japanese principle of "wabi sabi" (the discovery of beauty in imperfections) as the amulet edges have been trimmed with shears (?), most probably when an owner needed funds. On 8mm deep green jade (nephrite) beads with diamond and 18K accents .
(Note: See Intention to see a similarly sized untrimmed amulet.)
